Be a part of our city’s history

We’ve listened.

Over the past five years, the exterior appearance of the proposed Willow Tree Tower has changed several times, based on what you’ve told us you want to see. We are now presenting a building that will encourage foot traffic, add aesthetic appeal, and become a natural part of the landscape at the vibrant and historically significant corner of Quinpool and Robie Streets.

Landmark Location. Landmark Building.

While the building’s exterior appearance has changed, our intent never has: we are Haligonians who are passionate about Halifax, and we want to create a landmark that stands up and salutes our city’s past, while holding the door open for the future. Although we’ve been building homes and communities throughout HRM for more than three decades, this investment will certainly be one of our most visible, so we are committed to making the Willow Tree Tower something we can all be proud of.

Throughout our company’s history, we have focused on providing affordable housing options in HRM, and giving back to the communities where we build. This development will be no different: as part of our 25-storey proposal, we are committing to an affordable housing program to allow for affordable units in this development, something desperately needed in the downtown core.

Willow Tree Tower Quick Facts:

  • A proposed 25-storey residential and commercial building at the corner of Quinpool and Robie Streets
  • Includes an affordable housing plan
  • Architecturally unique and significant, paying homage to the history of the area
  • Narrow tower is designed to cast minimal shadows on the Halifax Commons
  • Ground floor retail, an integrated bus stop, wide sidewalks, and dramatic public art connect the building to the surrounding community and create a vibrant pedestrian environment
  • Wide streets on Quinpool and Robie, an expanse of green space on the Halifax Commons, and the scale of the building’s podium and tower make this an appropriately sized landmark development for the area
